The Buffalo Area WAVES had their Christmas Party on November 24, 2012 and decided to fundraise for Honor Flight Buffalo. As many of the members are from the World War II era, they are no longer a organization. During the party they raised funds to support sending a World War II Veteran on a trip of a lifetime.

The Send A Veteran Committee and West Middle is sponsoring the 2nd annual Send A Veteran Games on June 19. All money raised at this event will be donated to Honor Flight Buffalo. For every $375 raised this organization flies a WWII Veteran to Washington DC to see the World War II Memorial before it is too late. Every day 1000 WWII Veterans pass away and never have the opportunity to see the monument created in their honor. Buffalo Honor Flight has sent over 200 WWII Veterans to see the memorial in DC since 2010 and West Middle has helped many get there.

When: June 19 (rain or shine) from 11 AM until 2 PM.

What: The first 100 West Middle students who turn in their permission slip with a $7 registration fee will participate in a series of athletic events and be awarded points based on where they place. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place chosen for the female and the male athletes. Teachers and staff will be competing in individual events. Look below to see which events your favorite teacher or principal will be competing in.  For further details Click Here
