Tom Petrie held Three Fundraising Events with Proceeds to benefit Honor Flight Buffalo

with support from Tops Friendly Markets, The Made in American Store,

and the Aurora Theatre.

Taste of East Aurora, September 14, 2013Total - $1,289.00


During this time a raffle was held  for two tickets to the Buffalo Sabres vs. Boston Bruins - Donated by David Engler – Total $750.00


Premier of Honor Flight The Movie held on November 9, 2013 raised



Honor Flight Buffalo wishes to extend its thank you to Tom Petrie, Tops Friendly Markets, The Made in America Store and the Aurora Theatre for their support and all of the Community who supported these events. 

Grand Total - $3,294.00

Merchants Insurance Group colleagues are offered an opportunity to participate in a"Casual for a Cause" for a fee.  Honor Flight Buffalo was chosen as the

recipent of the fees paid by the coleagues! 

Thank you for raising $324.00.

Tyler Gustavel (2nd from right)with check presentation for Honor Flight Buffalo.  Tyler chose Honor Flight Buffalo in memory of Tyler's grandfather, Eugene A. Ward, a World War II veteran (pictured below).  His fundraising efforts will allow other Veterans to see their World War II Memorial built in their honor in Washington, DC free of charge.  Tyler, his friends and his parents would like to thank all of their friends that helped out, especially Gunnar Haberl, Doug Blocho, and Jon, Brissa, Dale, and Natalie Seibert. In recognition of Patriot day on September 11th, the employees of Brothers of Mercy held a patriotic casual dress day for staff.  Employees were encouraged to dress in red, white and blue attire and offer a one dollar donation to Honor Flight Buffalo.

Sheridan Hill Elementary School hosts Flag Day Parade, June 14, 2013

Each year the Sheridan Hill Elementary School has a parade for Flag Day. This year the Flag Day Committee decided that proceeds from the fundraising activites would be donated to Honor Flight Buffalo.  The students and faculty raised $1,500 to send World War II Veterans to experience a trip of a lifetime.  Special thank you to all the students and faculty, as well as organizations who assisted in their efforts.  Switala's Construction of Clarence matched funds raised by the students and faculty. In addition to the fundraising events, the students presented Honor Flight Buffalo hundreds of "Mail Call Letters" thanking our Veterans for their service to allow all of us the freedom we enjoy today.  A special thank you to Betty Daigler, whose Dad, George Messer, U.S. Army World War II veteran was a participant on Honor Flight Buffalo's September 11, 2010 flight.  For a full story of the days events click here
